Charities are increasingly pivoting toward e-commerce and digital fundraising platforms to bypass the high overheads of physical retail and reach a more global, younger donor base that prioritizes transparency and ease of transaction.

Moreover, there is a growing trend toward “merger and acquisition” activity within the third sector,or at least deeper strategic collaborations. By pooling resources, back-office functions, and advocacy efforts, smaller charities can achieve the economies of scale necessary to survive an “exceptionally challenging” market. This professionalization of the sector also includes a more disciplined approach to data analytics. By leveraging predictive modeling, organizations can better understand donor churn and tailor their engagement strategies to maximize “lifetime value” from their supporters.
